College Students (well anyone in Beavercreek), be forewarned. LaRosa’s of Beavercreek not only offers amazing food, the restaurant really cares about their customers. We’ve had less than amazing experiences with pizza delivery companies in this area, so it is a breath of fresh air when a company steps up to make things right to ensure customer satisfaction. This is what keeps a restaurant in business.

The excitement began on Thursday, January 20, 2010. It was snowing pretty bad and we were out of Coke. For anyone who drinks Coca Cola, you know the direness of such a situation! We decided to order LaRosa’s because we could buy three 2-liters of Coke to last us through any potential winter storm that may keep us trapped for the weekend. LaRosa’s also features the most amazing French Onion Soup. So, we purchased three two liters, two French Onion Soup cups and a Double Baked Royal sub that Ashtyn and I planned to split. We were eating late that night, so we ordered around 10:20 PM. LaRosa’s has the ability to order online, so we chose to do that, as opposed to calling.
Around 11:30 PM we received a call from Jeremy, the owner of the Beavercreek LaRosa’s. He was wondering when we’d be picking up our food. Apparently, due to a glitch in the computer, our order was listed as pickup. We thought since the weather was bad our delivery driver was slow and he thought since the weather was bad, we were slow to come pick the food up. Having no car meant we could not go get the food. So, Jeremy told me he’d be returning payment to our Credit Card. He was extremely apologetic and was so nice, we hung up telling him we’d just order tomorrow.
It was not ten minutes later that Jeremy called us back. He had called the main LaRosa’s office and discovered that there had been problems with online ordering and this had happened before. As it was no fault of our own, he would be offering the entire order to us for free. So, not only did we get our money back, we received a credit for the pops and food we ordered. I explained to Jeremy I was a blogger and that I would be sharing this story with my readers on The Dayton Dish. I also told him I’d be telling those around the Wright State campus to order from LaRosa’s.
You see, this is what makes customers want to keep coming back to a restaurant. So many owners do not seem to care. The food can be superior, but nobody wants to deal with crappy service. LaRosa’s delivery drivers are quick, very nice, and have great attitudes. They do not act like they hate their jobs, like so many delivery drivers do and they do not take it out on the customers, which is common. We order a lot of delivery, and the drivers from LaRosa’s are the best. Of course, it does help that the restaurant has delicious food. They are the only company we know that delivers French Onion Soup and their Kitchen Chips (homemade, seasoned potato chips) are so good. I’ve never met a chip that does not need dip, until now!

When I ordered on Friday, we ordered the three two liters of Coke, the two soups, and instead of the Deluxe Baked Royal, we purchased half a sub. That is because Ash wanted Baked Ziti instead of splitting the sub. The Baked Royal is a sub with Capocolla ham, salami and provolone baked, then topped with tomatoes and onions, and served with mayonnaise or Italian dressing. We got ours sans onions with mayo and Italian. This sub was so good. Usually the Capocolla ham is too strong for me to eat, but the flavors were light and complimented one another. This had to be one of the best Italian subs I have ever had. The Baked Ziti was also pretty good, but if you like a lot of sauce, this isn’t super saucy. However, it is super creamy, so cheese lovers can rejoice.
Of course, the highlight is the French Onion Soup. This has to be our favorite French Onion soup we’ve eaten. It has a delightful broth that emphasizes the caramelized, wine-infused onions. The bread/croutons are crispy enough to get a little bite, but soft enough to be coated in soup-filled yumminess. The melted provolone cheese is just gooey and perfect, complementing an already amazing dish. As good as the soup was, Ash just had to finish our meal off with dessert, and what better way than with
Italian Crème Cake. While I am typically a chocolate lover, I really enjoyed the icing, walnuts and coconut filled buttermilk cake, drizzled with raspberry sauce goodness.

All in all, our meal last night was awesome and we owe it all to LaRosa’s. This pizzeria/restaurant offers calzones, pizza, pasta, salads/soups, great starters (cheese sticks, chicken tenders, and other fried delights), hoagies, and delectable desserts.
